Cri du coeur
Josée Charbonneau, an artist in visual arts, has an approach that transforms figurative representation into printed images. After completing her studies in Graphic Design at the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal, she became actively involved in the artistic community and joined Atelier Circulaire in 2007, a Montreal print arts centre celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Her engravings on linoleum, which includes some twenty pieces, has enabled her to explore the four-colour technique, offering a rich and varied palette. The Charbonnel oil inks that she prefers allow her to experiment with particular shades of colour, all related to her recurring theme: Cri du cœur. This colourful exploration bears witness to and expresses the emotions she shares through her art.
Josée Charbonneau combines technique and sensitivity, seeking to touch the viewer with the visual power of her creations.
